1. How to Request Data Deletion
To request the permanent deletion of your account and ledger data, send an email to privacy@merushq.com using the sample template below.

3. What Happens After You Submit Your Request
Here are the step-by-step actions our team and automated systems take once we receive your request:
- Step 1: Ownership Verification (Within 24 Hours)
To prevent accidental or malicious deletion by unauthorized third parties, our privacy team sends a brief confirmation prompt via WhatsApp to your registered phone number. - Step 2: Permanent Key Destruction & Data Wipe (Immediate upon confirmation)
Once you confirm ownership, we permanently destroy your shop's encryption keys. In that instant, all your customer names, transaction records, message histories, and notes across all active servers and backups become permanently unreadable and unrecoverable. - Step 3: Database & Identifier Purge (Within 48 Hours)
Our automated retention task purges your pseudonymous hash identifier, active session tokens, and message logs from production databases. - Step 4: Final Confirmation Notice (Within 3 Business Days Max)
You receive a final confirmation email or WhatsApp notification confirming that your account and encryption keys have been destroyed and your account is closed.
